Chinese paddlers depart for World Championships

May 12 - China's Ping Pong team left Beijing on Sunday to attend the 49th World Table Tennis Championships in Zagreb, capital of Croatia, from May 21 to 27.

 

The team will undergo a week long tuneup exercise in Austria before they join the championship.

 

The Chinese team aims to scoop all five medals at the championship: the Men's and Women's Singles, the Men's and Women's Doubles, and the Mixed Doubles.

 

China swept the five gold medals at the 48th World Table Tennis Championship in Shanghai in 2005.
